and then there was PowerPoint…
Have you ever wondered how PowerPoint came into being—and which major milestones have shaped the program? We’ve got you covered!
1987
The first version of PowerPoint was created in 1987. Forethought, a company specialised in computer software, developed ‘Presenter’. That same year, Microsoft acquired Forethought for around $14 million. Shortly after, they renamed the program — believe it or not — Microsoft PowerPoint *angel choir*
2002
Many versions later, the program was renamed Microsoft Office PowerPoint. It received an upgrade, including the addition of toolbars. As a result, many previously used plug-ins became unnecessary. In 2007, several functionalities were removed, making the program even more user-friendly.
2010
Boom! Even more features were added, including the ability to collaborate with multiple people in one presentation—now further evolved with cloud solutions. From that moment on, it also became possible to convert presentations into videos. Exactly what we do with our videos!

Yes, PowerPoint keeps evolving with new features and possibilities—and we love it. We closely follow the latest trends!
