Windows or Mac?
Since the launch of PowerPoint version 2016, many differences between Windows and Mac have actually been resolved. For example, you couldn’t create animation paths in iOS but you could run them. Animation triggers and several animations on one object were subject to the same restrictions.
Now, almost all functionalities are available on both platforms, and the main difference is with the interface.
If you switch between one platform and the other, you will notice that this requires an entire adaptation to be able to find everything. The many shortcuts are also often slightly different. Ideally, opt to use just one platform, so you can familiarise yourself quickly.
Xiwa recommends Windows because new features are always launched on there first.
The use of fonts is worthy of note. This is because there are special fonts for Windows and for Mac. If you use various fonts for Mac, they differ from Windows. These fonts are not recognised on Mac, so they will be replaced by standard fonts on Mac.
The list of safe fonts which work properly on both platforms is short: Arial, Comic Sans, Courier, Impact, Lucida Console/Monaco, Palatino, Tahoma/Geneva, Times New Roman, Trebuchet and Verdana. If you choose one of these fonts, your presentation will always look the same, regardless of which platform or computer you run your Powerpoint presentation on.
